Document
Templates
Another of the valuable services
provided by Projective Print & Finish to assist our clients in
meeting their printing requirements is the supply of a number of Adobe In Design
Templates documents. The are provided for use by Printers and graphic artists in
laying out their graphics to optimise the capabilities of the
print & finishing equipment utilised by Projective Print &
Finish. (Impostrip Imposition, Digital Press, Duplo DC-645 etc):

Note: If
the height of your business card is less than 55mm, we will
manually trim the final edge after the automated trimming process.
Please lay out the card to the top left edge of the template,
leaving space for the bleed.
The example below has a cut mark at 40mm and another at 50mm (two
commonly selected sizes) to
indicate where we would manually trim the card to reduce its
height.

If the length of
your card is not 85mm, 90mm or 91mm please contact our office and
we will supply a template in a layout that is suitable for your
card length. Please note that the minimum length for cards
is 85mm.
The final page
size dimensions for a PDF file for each file size is:
55mm x 91mm
Business Cards - PDF size 60mm x 96mm
55mm x 90mm

55mm x 85mm

The example below

Projective has recently acquired
Impostrip Digital On Demand for our imposition layout
requirements. The template section of this site has been
updated with standard Adobe In Design templates which suit
our imposition software and will allow us to streamline our print processes
to provide you a more cost effective and timely delivery of
quality output.
Please check this section often
as we will update the templates regularly based on the feedback
from our customers.

Documents
The
attached document supplied by Enfocus, describes PDF standard used
within the print industry. Projective Print & Finish
utilise Enfocus Pit Stop Professional within our digital workflow to
ensure that we are able to manage the PDF files provided by our
customers. Please download the following PDF standard document
to gain some insight into the standards utilised to create & manage
PDF documents.

Adobe Distiller
Settings
Print &
Finish require that
customers supply us with print files that meet the standards defined
above. Once of the simplest and inexpensive ways of doing this
is to utilise Adobe Acrobat
Distiller with pre defined settings to produce your print ready PDF
files.
The following information is
designed to assist customers in supplying correctly formatted PDF
files to ensure faster processing of jobs and reduce the potential
of error.
Incorrectly formatted PDF files may
result in additional charges or the return of your files which could
delay production of your job.

Install the
ProjectiveShortRunPrinting.joboptions file. This file
contains all the parameters needed to produce high quality PDF
files.
This can be obtained from your Account Manager or downloaded here:
Place the file in the Acrobat
Distiller settings folder:

Windows: "Documents and
settings> All Users > Documents > Adobe PDF > Settings"

Mac 0S9: "Applications > Adobe
Acrobat > Distiller > Settings"

Mac OSX: "Users > Shared >
Adobe PDF > Settings"
Launch Acrobat Distiller. Select
ProjectiveShortRunPrinting job options.
Open Postscript file. Acrobat Distiller will automatically begin
distilling a PDF file in the location specified.
PDF Checklist
FONTS - Are ALL fonts embedded?
CROP MARKS - Are all marks 5mm
away from trim edge?
BLEED - Is there 2.5 mm bleed?
COLOUR - Are all 4-colour
elements CMYK? Are all black elements GREYSCALE? Are spot colours
set up correctly?

Attached is a PDF file that
outlines the basic workings of the Duplo DC-645. It includes with
